16 fun facts about chef Gordon Ramsay

The competition will be fierce when Hell’s Kitchen: Battle of the Ages premieres September 29 on Fox with the chef Gordon Ramsay, 55, overseeing culinary showdowns between seasoned chefs and ambitious young challengers. Here are some fun facts about the Chef Judge, who started his own food career in England as a pot washer in an Indian restaurant.

  • Football (or soccer, as he calls it) was Ramsay’s dream career before injuries forced him to change his plans.
  • His feet are UK size 15, the equivalent of US size 16! All of her shoes are custom made.
  • He is a black belt in karate.

  • Ramsay has participated in over 15 marathons and one of the toughest races in the world, the Ironman World Championship.

  • He believes there are five foods that everyone should be able to prepare: a good burger, a breakfast, a chicken dish, a pot roast and a good cake.
