European Union Quality Basket event in New York spotlights organic produce

NEW YORK – The European region is world famous for its fertile soils and ideal climatic conditions that produce top quality food. This is one of the main reasons why European gastronomy and cuisine is based on so many delicious products such as extra virgin olive oil with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), PDO cheeses and wines/ protected geographical indication (PGI), fresh fruit juices and cereals of exceptional quality, organic meats… certified by the PDO/PGI and organic label. Each dish prepared with the products of the European basket is a fantastic combination of flavors and nutrients that make each meal a wonderful journey of flavor.

The European Union Quality Basket is an EU-funded campaign, aimed at promoting the European Basket of PDO/PGI and organic products in the United States, Australia and Norway from Bulgaria (organic juices), from Romania (mixture of organic products) and from Greece (PDO/PGI and organic products).
