Get to know the Georg Jensen Alum Rosendahl Design Group just added as CEO

Thomas Perez, a longtime leader in the homewares industry – known for his work with brands such as Bodum and Georg Jensen – has joined Rosendahl Design Group and its portfolio of international brands in a new joint venture as a partner and CEO.

Born in Denmark, Perez began his career in the homewares industry in 1988 working with Royal Copenhagen, which also operated Georg Jensen and Holmegaard at the time, as head of European exports. Later, as Export Manager of Royal Scandinavia, a company made up of Royal Copenhagen, Sweden’s Orrefors, Kosta Boda Crystal, Boda Nova Hoeganaes and Italy’s Murano-based Venini, he oversaw operations in 45 countries, including the United States.

From there, Thomas moved to Switzerland to work for Bodum, to build and grow the brand in the global market, then move to Sydney, Australia, to build and grow the organization in New Zealand and Australia. After establishing this base in 2006, Perez took on responsibility for Bodum across Asia Pacific before moving to New York to serve as CEO of Bodum USA with responsibility for North and South America.

After 7 years with Bodum in America, bringing significant growth and making the brand a household name for coffee and tea products, Perez focused on coffee, joining coffee technology company Alpha Dominche in 2015. Moving the company’s base to New York, Perez worked to expand commercial and consumer market distribution, going so far as to open a cafe and product showroom for the brand called Extraction Lab to accommodate industry members and consumers.

Perez returned to his roots in 2019, joining Georg Jensen in New York to help reposition the company in North America. In just three years, Perez was able to help the company achieve its first profitable year for North America in 20 years, more than doubling revenue, before assuming his new position.

In his new role, Perez will strive to bring Rosendahl’ Design Groups eight brands inherited from Denmark in the North American market. He will also continue to serve as a global strategic advisor for home coffee brewing equipment company Fellow and maintain the cafe and wine tasting bar he owns with his wife, Marianne.
