JYC Enterprise, Inc. recalls chicken and pork products made without inspection


WASHINGTON, October 28, 2022 – JYC Enterprise, Inc., a Houston, Texas facility, is recalling approximately 33,280 pounds of frozen chicken and pork products that were repackaged, relabeled, and distributed without the benefit of federal inspection, the Safety Department and US Department of Agriculture (FSIS) Food Inspection Board announced today.

Frozen potstickers were repackaged and relabeled on various dates from February 22 through October 24, 2022. The following products are being recalled [view labels]:

  • 16 pounds. cases of “ASIAN PRIDE POTSTICKER” containing 330 pieces of “CHICKEN POTSTICKER” in 8 2-lb. clear plastic bags.
  • 16 pounds. cases of “ASIAN PRIDE POTSTICKER” containing 330 pieces of “PORK POTSTICKER” in 8 2-lb. clear plastic bags.

The recalled products bear the establishment number “P-13186” or “Est. 13186” inside USDA inspection mark. These items were shipped to restaurants in Wisconsin.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS verification activities. FSIS determined that the company had repackaged and relabeled the sticker products without the benefit of a federal inspection.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse effects due to the consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in restaurant freezers. Restaurants are asked not to serve these products. These products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.

FSIS regularly conducts recall effectiveness checks to ensure that recalling companies are notifying their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers.
