A new noodle restaurant offering ‘homemade family recipes’ has opened in Crewe town center – more than two years after the unit went vacant.

Hong’s Noodle Dumpling Bar, Earle Street, officially opened on Tuesday October 18 – employing two members of staff from the Crewe area.

The new restaurant replaced Earle Street Cafe and Takeaway which closed in 2020 – during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“My friends ran a takeaway and restaurant in Crewe and recommended I open one here,” said business owner Mr Simon Shen.

Hong’s Noodle Dumpling Bar has two staff at the front of the house – with Mr. Shen cooking and preparing with his chef in the kitchen.

Mr Shen told Nub News: “I’m from Shropshire. I didn’t know much about Crewe but I know it’s very good for transport links.

“This restaurant has all of our home-cooked family recipes. The biggest selling point is the boxed offerings we sell.

“When the customer walks in, they can choose a small, medium or large box.

Customers can choose a small, medium or large box with a noodle or rice base and often up to three toppings (Ryan Parker).

“They can choose rice or noodles as a base, and then they can have one filling for a small box, two fillings for a medium box, and three fillings for a large one.

“The fillings of a large box can be either three distinct or three times the quantity of one.”

“I think I offer small prices for a lot of choices.”

Mr. Shen was delighted with the feedback his new venture Crewe has received so far.

The restaurant is currently operating on a trial basis. A full menu will be decided once it has been fully tried and tested by customers.

Mr Shen is a big fan of the people of Crewe and the new Crewe Market Hall.

He added: “Crewe is a lovely place full of lovely people and very diverse. So far our customers have been very polite.

“I also chose this location because it’s so close to Crewe Market Hall.

“A lot of people go there to eat. This place offers even more choices than the one downtown.”
