Sky Blu Rooftop Bar announces opening then non-opening

Located in the heart of the Dallas Design District, the Sky Blu Rooftop Bar has postponed its opening until Friday.

Featuring modern advertising design, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, indoor and outdoor lounge areas, handcrafted cocktails, and Instagram-worthy views of Dallas, the rooftop bar sounds like the fabulous new spot.

Located atop the Tru by Hilton Dallas Market Center, the elevator ride from the hotel lobby will transport visitors to a bustling nightlife spot with views for days.

The bar also advertised some of its signature cocktails in the original version. From Sky Blu:

Along with an extensive beer and wine list, choose from one of Sky Blu’s many delicious cocktails and sip the nigapart :

  • Flight delayed – Tito’s vodka, grapefruit, aperol and lime
  • Old fashioned Lone Star – Bulleit bourbon, demerara, angostura, grapefruit bitters
  • Sky Blu Daisy – Tequila Altos Plata, Cointreau, lime
  • Normal clothes –Mezcal Del Maguey Vida, charred pineapple, lemon and habanero shrub
  • frozen delta – Tequila Hornitos Reposado, coconut cream, blue curaçao, lemon, grilled coconut
  • Pointing man – Bourbon Maker’s Mark, plantation dark, averna amaro, tempus fugit banana
  • Passion Fruit Rickey – Gin Bombay Sapphire, passion fruit, lime, soda

Thirsty Lion Gastropub opens third restaurant in Grandscape

Thirsty Lion Gastro Puba restaurant concept known for its from-scratch cooking and seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients and an extensive menu of craft cocktails and beers, has opened its latest location in North Texas and its first two-storey restaurant and bar. floors at Grandscape at The Colony.

The Colony’s Grandscape is one of the nation’s largest mixed-use real estate developments, owned by Warren Buffett. Thirsty Lion joins a variety of popular restaurants, an outdoor amphitheater, convention center, hotel and spa, and more.

Inside, the design features a refined, upscale version of the Thirsty Lion. Rustic wood finishes blend with modern decorative fixtures. Layered pops of rich color with a bold pattern and texture.

The ground floor of the gastropub has 2,848 square feet of indoor dining and bar area and 6,996 square feet of outdoor patio. The second floor has 2,806 square feet of indoor dining and bar space, and the second floor outdoor patio has 1,414 square feet.

Outside, the green space, called the “Front Yard,” features lawn games like the Corn Hole and Giant Jenga, and the patios feature fairy lights, a large fire for group seating, and screens. flat, perfect for beautiful sunny days and cooler winter and spring nights. Patios are covered with options for cooling with umbrellas or heating and can be reserved for special events. The total indoor capacity is 270 people and the outdoor capacity is 392 people.

Thirsty Lion’s signature dishes include the gourmet gorgonzola burger; Bacon Wrapped BBQ Shrimp; Fish & Chips with beer; Gochujang BBQ Pork and Kimchi Fried Rice; the pan-fried Ahi salad; Baja fish tacos; and traditional Scotch eggs. The menu also features appetizers to share, salads, sandwiches, fresh seafood, gourmet half pound burgers and steaks. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available.

Thirsty Lion has a central bar that offers a wide selection of craft cocktails that showcase combinations of fresh fruit purees, premium juices and liquors. Customers can choose from a wide variety of beers on tap, including several Texas breweries and an extensive wine list. The menu features modern takes on classic cocktails as well as iconic drinks such as the Grapefruit Basil Martini, Blood Orange Margarita and Old Fashioned.

The restaurant is equipped with dozens of HD flat screens on both floors inside and outside with high quality audio and visual systems.

Weekend brunch will include mimosas and Bloody Marys by the bottle and weekday happy hour specials from 3-6 p.m.

This joins two other existing Texas locations at Toyota Music Factory in Irving and Glade Parks in Euless. Soon will follow the opening of Preston Hollow Village in North Dallas in August 2022.

Cake Bar is now shipping nationwide

In May, the bakery, Cake bar, located in Trinity Groves, has announced that it now offers nationwide delivery. This new offering will bring a wide selection of traditional, Southern-style cakes made from scratch to every corner of the United States.

The Black Bakery, owned by a wife of Tracy German, offers a wide selection of traditional Southern-style cakes and confections with over 16 different cakes made from scratch, a variety of pound cakes, quick breads, cookies , ice creams and assorted drinks. From its red velvet cake, a simple strawberry cake or the German chocolate cake, Cake Bar can ship it straight to any door for a sweet slice of Dallas.

Personally can I recommend either the wedding cake and the lemon cake because OMG so delicious.

Worthington Renaissance Hotel Announces Concert Program and Toro Toro Wine Specials

Every Wednesday, live music will take place in the hotel lobby from 5-7:30 p.m. with a deluxe list of Toro Toro wine labels.

housed inside the hotel, Toro Toro by chef Richard Sandoval will feature the special “Wednesdays of the Weary Traveler” wine. Sip a midweek pick-me-up with half-price bottles of Latin wine under $200 from 4 p.m. to midnight.

Guests looking for a full dining experience on their show nights will find just that. Executive chef Jonathan Esparza translates bold pan-Latin flavors into a three-course prix-fixe theater menu that includes a guacamole entrée made with fresh pico de gallo and jalapeno peppers; a first course of kale salad made with Manchego cheese, heirloom cherry tomatoes, candied peanuts, white raisins, and white-orange balsamic vinaigrette; the second course offers a choice between grilled salmon made with achiote marinade, bok choy braised in dashi, Morita pepper jam with bacon and ponzu broth or half Cusco chicken made with achiote marinade, broccolini and salsa criolla; and the sweetest dish of the night will be Mil Ojas served with cream cheese, hot caramel sauce and cajeta ice cream. This three-course prix fixe menu is $100 per customer.

Celebrate 4th of July Weekend with USA’ Ritas from Cantina Laredo

Cantina locations Laredo Addison and Frisco are bringing back their USA ‘Rita – a 4th of July version of the restaurant’s signature Casa ‘Rita. For $9 each, the USA’ Rita offers red, white, and blue layers with flavors of blue curacao and strawberry puree. The cocktail (pictured) will be available July 1-4.
